Press Room

The FAMM Press Room is an up-to-date resource for journalists and others who want to learn more about mandatory sentencing policies and FAMM’s work to reform these laws.

Looking for a case to feature as part of your story? FAMM keeps an extensive database of case profiles of prisoners who are currently serving harsh mandatory sentences in the federal or state prison system. Because most mandatory minimums apply to drug-related offenses, most of the cases in our database are for drug offenders. The stories of these prisoners can help connect your readers with the human faces behind these harsh laws. FAMM can also help put you in touch with family members of incarcerated individuals. All of our media case profiles undergo an extensive research process and are fully vetted by a case researcher. We obtain key court documents like a Pre-Sentence Investigation Report (PSR), if available, to verify the facts of each case.

We Offer:

  • Expert Interviews
  • Fact Sheets
  • News Releases
  • Information on the latest legislation pertaining to mandatory minimums
  • Photographs
  • Personal Testimony
